This really useful resource which looks to be the first in a series could be used at home or in the school to introduce children to basic Punjabi or as it is referred to here Panjabi. The author points to the need for children to remain aware of their linguistic heritage in situations where they are less likely to learn the language from their relatives and from a multi-cultural perspective. I see nothing wrong in the diversity of languages in the UK being shared and celebrated in our schools.
This is an ideal resource to help do so. It benefits from a really attractive design, highly colourful and clear illustrations of key items and basic concepts. Phonetic spelling of the words is a useful inclusion and will enable anyone unfamiliar with the language to pronounce words correctly.
